Public Engines Announces Strategic Alliance with Hitech Systems to Build an Integration Layer into Hitech Systems' SafetyNet CAD and RMS

SALT LAKE CITY and LOS ANGELES - April 17, 2008 - Public Engines today announced a strategic alliance with Hitech Systems to include an integration layer in Hitech Systems' SafetyNet™ CAD and RMS for CrimeReports.com, making them one of the first CrimeReports Ready applications available on the market today. The partnership will allow SafetyNet CAD and RMS customers to immediately and seamlessly integrate their crime data with CrimeReports.com, giving them the capability to share their crime data with their local community members.

Hitech System's SafetyNet CAD is a real-time, multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional Computer Aided Dispatch system for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS agencies, and demonstrates some of the fastest transaction times in the industry.

Hitech System's SafetyNet RMS is an integrated records management system for law enforcement agencies, and provides extensive ad hoc reporting and analysis capabilities to assist with crime prevention, investigation and incident analysis. SafetyNet RMS also meets state and federal reporting requirements by compiling data into reports for easy electronic transmission, supporting both Uniform Crime Reporting and Incident-Based Reporting.

"Making SafetyNet CAD and RMS CrimeReports Ready applications opens up the opportunity to our customers to seamlessly integrate their crime reporting onto a Google Maps interface to give local community members the ability to see exactly where crime is happening in their neighborhood," said Jaime Lim, Hitech Systems Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. "It also gives our customers an immediate alerting capability to add to their system."

The basic information that CrimeReports.com provides is:
  • Type of incident (preliminary)
  • Date of incident
  • Block address of incident
  • Other pertinent information as deemed necessary by the reporting law enforcement agency

CrimeReports.com is free to members of the public, and allows users to receive alerts automatically via email if a crime occurs in their immediate neighborhood. It also allows people to view reported crime activity on an easy-to-use map for any location within each agency's boundaries.

"Hitech Systems is one of the leading providers of highly reliable, customizable and cost-effective data management solutions to public safety agencies," said Greg Whisenant, CEO of Public Engines. "This alliance gives CrimeReports.com and Hitech Systems increased exposure to law enforcement agencies that are looking to stay ahead of the technology curve. We look forward to working closely with them and their customers as we make great strides together in law enforcement."

Under the terms of the agreement, CrimeReports.com is offering the first two months free to Hitech Systems customers who sign up before the end of June 2008. For more information please visit www.CrimeReports.com or www.Hitech.com.
